15 Artists at Redcliffe Art Gallery has returned to Redcliffe Art Gallery, bringing 15 contemporary Australian artists to the bayside. The annual exhibition showcases recent works across painting, sculpture, installation, video and textile practice.

The show gives visitors a clear look at the ideas shaping Australian art right now. The works explore belonging, resilience, memory and transformation. They also examine the relationship between people, place and technology.

That mix gives the exhibition range. It also gives locals a strong reason to step inside the gallery and spend some time with the work.

A prize with staying power

The exhibition is acquisitive. That means one artist will win a $20,000 prize at a special event on 29 August. The winning artwork will then join the City of Moreton Bay Art Collection.

The prize gives the exhibition an extra edge. It also means the winning work will stay in public view long after the show ends.

Mayor Peter Flannery said 15 Artists at Redcliffe Art Gallery plays an important part in the city’s cultural calendar. He said it gives the community access to contemporary Australian art. He also said it helps build a public collection for future generations.

Those goals sit at the centre of the exhibition. It is both a showcase and a collection event. So the work on display carries real purpose.

Redcliffe’s place in the picture

For Redcliffe, the exhibition adds another strong cultural stop to the local calendar. It also adds to the gallery’s role as a space where people can meet new ideas close to home.

The artists come from across Australia. Yet the show still feels grounded in place. That matters in a community like Redcliffe, where the waterfront, history and daily life all shape how people see the world.

Visitors will find work that invites close attention. Some pieces focus on material and form. Others reflect on memory and change. Together, they create a thoughtful and varied exhibition.
