Detectives investigating the armed robbery of a 20-year-old man in Clontarf on Friday night are appealing for two witnesses who rendered assistance to come forward.
Around 8.45pm the man was walking through Pikett Park when a man on a push bike confronted him and punched him in the stomach.
The man then threatened him with a knife before stealing his mobile phone and fleeing on his bike.
Two men who were in the area at the time chased after him but the man rode away along Pearson Street.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 183cm tall with a ginger moustache and goatee and was wearing a blue and white cap, black t-shirt and jeans. He was riding a blue and grey mountain bike.
Investigators want to hear from anyone with information about this incident, including the two men, who attempted to stop the man.
