Nearly half of koalas die after Gold Coast relocation

More than 100 koalas die after a “translocation” process on Queensland’s Gold Coast but the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection says the mortality rate is “not significantly different” to deaths at the original site or other koalas at the new location.
