Mitsubishi Australia has announced a mass recall of 6,384 units of the Mitsubishi Pajero. If you’ve bought this SUV around the 21st of Nov 2016 to the 30th of July 2019, you’re advised to head to the Redcliffe dealer at 218 Anzac Avenue, or your preferred dealer, as soon as possible to correct the problem.
The Mitsubishi Pajero recall covers models MY2017-18 the NX-series. According to the carmaker, these vehicles have “inadequate welding strength” which could break and lead to a failure of the front right side suspension lower control arm. If this happens, the driver might feel instability and loss of control of the steering wheel.
To prevent an accident, Mitsubishi Pajero owners are encouraged to visit the dealer for the repair. Check if your car is affected.
Owners of the defective Mitsubishi Pajero model should also receive a notification from the carmaker via direct mail. If you have not received yours, you may phone 1800 931 811 for further information and guidance, or 1300 131 211 to get in touch with your preferred dealer.
Please note that the welding repair is a free service and you must take this opportunity to get your Mitsubishi Pajero checked.

These organic items help feed the worms at the farm, and the LOOP.Growers in return cycle back the material as fresh produce; hence making this entire cycle a ‘closed loop’ system.
In addition to the cafe’s sustainability belief, Flock Eatery also supports various local businesses. In fact, the cafe’s tableware came from a local potter- Redraku, whilst their coffee is roasted locally by Tim Adams.

Redcliffe Art Society is proud to present ‘Serendipity’ — an art exhibition that features the works of both experienced and novice artists. You will see more than 90 works of individual styles and media.
The exhibition officially opened on 29 June and will end by Sunday 21 July. Serendipity Art Exhibition is located at the Old Fire Station Gallery, 395 Oxley Ave, Redcliffe. It’s open Wednesdays to Sundays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The Redcliffe Art Society is a community organisation dedicated to the artistic endeavours and education of artists in all mediums.
It is home to Redcliffe peninsula’s best and aspiring artists. It holds regular exhibitions of local and international interest, featuring artists from Redcliffe, the Moreton Bay Region and around Australia.
The society moved to its present location in February 2015. The Old Redcliffe Fire Station was completely refurbished, providing a modern and exciting space in which to exhibit and learn.
Redcliffe Kite Festival, the most popular family event in the Moreton Bay peninsula, returns at the Pelican Park this year with a new entertainment feature that’s guaranteed to please the children.
Pinkfong will be performing their famous song “Baby Shark” at the event, which will run on Saturday and Sunday, the 15th and 16th of June 2019.
The YouTube viral hit will have two shows for each of the day of the event. Troop to the Kindred Stage so your kids can sing and dance along to the performances.

Flutter the Fairy will also mark her appearance at the KiteFest Kidz Zone between 10:40 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. She will hold two story time sessions with the children at the big white tent.

Pram and wheelchair-friendly shuttle services around Redcliffe will be available from 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. so that guests don’t have to bring their car to the event. However, the Redcliffe Showgrounds on Scarborough Road has been designated as the free parking area, should visitors want to drive to the festival.

The Redcliffe community has come together to raise more than $81,000 in funds for the medical expenses and recovery of a toddler involved in a freak accident at the Redcliffe Paceway.
On Sunday, the 24th of March 2019, two-year-old Lara Whitaker was standing by the sidelines with her father Gary Whitaker, a prominent harness racing driver, her mom Joedy, and her one-year-old brother when the gate of a pace vehicle smashed towards the family after it failed to retract.
The toddler was rushed to the Queensland Children’s Hospital where doctors determined she suffered massive injuries to her face and abdomen. Her condition has stabilised but she remains in critical care.
The rest of the family were also treated for cuts and minor injuries.
Following the accident, Australian Trotting Driving Champion Scott McCarthy set up a GoFundMe page for the Whitakers. Initially, the fundraising effort had a goal of $5,000 but generous donations from the community, especially from different racing clubs, poured in.
Nine days following the accident, the GoFundMe page received nearly $80,000. Within a month of the fundraising effort, 385 people have donated to help little Lara with her medical expenses and recovery.
A total of 32 peak-time weekly services will be coming to Redcliffe Peninsula and six other QR lines beginning 13 May 2019.
To help reduce the waiting time for customers in South East Queensland, Queensland Rail is set to add extra train services at times when they are needed most. This means that an extra 14,000 seats will be added during certain peak periods across SEQ.
In response to customer feedback, Queensland Rail analysed patronage data, wait times, and operational efficiencies, and identified 32 priority weekly services which are needed to be added during morning and afternoon peak hours.
Those who will benefit from this initiative are customers on Shorncliffe, Cleveland, Redcliffe Peninsula, Ferny Grove, Springfield, Gold Coast and Airport lines.

Sand Sculpture & Workshop: A professional sand sculptor will create incredible scenes right before your eyes. You can also jump in and try creating your very own masterpiece.
There will be three stages dedicated to live music: the Main Stage, Northern Acoustic Stage, and Southern Acoustic Stage. Non-stop music performances will be a mix of genres including pop, folk, acoustic, blues, jazz, RnB, soul, and dance.
Entertainers lined up for the Main
Stage include Thomas Armstrong-Robley, Mason Watts, Ruby Gilbert, Amy
Kate, and Ballantyne. Also, the Sharon Alback Dancers will be performing “Where
is the Easter Bunny” at 2:00pm.
Lined up at the Northern Acoustic Stage
are amazing local musicians like Amy Kate, Nicole Canaway, Izack Hunt, and
Nicole McKinney. Whilst the Southern Acoustic Stage will enjoy great live music
from talented local performers like Sarah Hamze, Jax Haze, Liam Johnson, Lucky
Korts, and the front-man from Reggae band Fat Picnic, Graham Moes.
Pop-Up Ice Cream Fair
Chill at the festive atmosphere of the
Pop-up Ice Cream Fair that will have everything sweet, creamy and frozen.
Participating in this fair are Dippin Dots, Gelato A Go-Go, Classic Ice Cream,
Icephile, Ungermann Brothers Ice Cream Parlour, Whips and Co, Yo-Get-It, and
Popsyland. Also taking part are Donut Kitchen and Espresso XO.
Other Features of the Festival
Aside from the Pop-up Ice Cream Fair,
there will be two food courts with international cuisines or festival classics
like spiral potatoes, pizza, churros, hot donuts, and much more.
Roam around and have a look at over 150
market stalls lining Suttons Beach selling clothing, accessories, toys, and
treasures. Love Handmade Lane in particular will have a variety of made in
Brisbane products like handcrafted sterling silver jewellery, art & prints,
plants, and jam + chutney. You may also be interested to join the free Easter
Wreath Workshops featured in this area at 10:00am and 2:00pm.
A range of rides will also be featured such as the Circus Jumping Castle, Cup & Saucer, Ferris Wheel, and more. Rides will cost $5 each or $25 for an all-day rides pass.
On top of that, you can just catch the Free Shuttle Bus for stress-free travel to the festival. There will be two locations to hop on a shuttle bus: at the Redcliffe Showgrounds on Scarborough Road and at Kippa-Ring Train Station. The shuttle is pram and wheelchair friendly.
