Brisbane Whale Watching has listed a 2026 season start date of Saturday, 6 June, with tours indicated to operate daily during the migration period, weather permitting. Seasonal information on the operator’s site places tour operations between June and November.

Humpback whales migrate along Australia’s eastern coastline each year, passing through Moreton Bay as part of their annual journey.

Departure Point And Daily Schedule

Redcliffe-based tours are shown to depart from Redcliffe Jetty, which also serves as the return point for cruises. Operational details list boarding from 9:00 a.m., with a 10:00 a.m. departure time. Cruises are scheduled to return to Redcliffe Jetty by 2:30 p.m.

Tour products described as operating ex-Brisbane CBD include return bus transfers, with passengers embarking and disembarking at Redcliffe.

Onboard Experience And Inclusions

The standard day cruise listing includes a gourmet picnic lunchbox and onboard commentary. Menu details shown for the 2026 season include chicken, garden salad, potato salad and fruit.

Additional inclusions displayed across ticket types include access to a licensed bar, snack and souvenir counter. The operator also states that a portion of ticket revenue is allocated to whale-related charitable or research organisations.

A 2026 season pass priced at $600 is also listed, providing access to four whale watching trips during the season.

Music lovers, get ready for an evening like no other! Renowned country music star James Blundell is set to perform an intimate concert aboard the Eye Spy vessel in Redcliffe.

Brisbane Whale Watching announced that the exclusive performance will take place on Saturday, 27 July 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The unique concert promises to blend Blundell’s soulful melodies with the natural beauty of a Moreton Bay sunset, offering attendees a one-of-a-kind experience. The event will be stationary, with the Eye Spy moored at the Northern Finger of Redcliffe Jetty.

Captain Kerry Lopez, skipper of the Eye Spy, expressed her enthusiasm for the event. “We are beyond excited to welcome James Blundell aboard Eye Spy for this very special performance. His music resonates with the spirit of the ocean and the beauty of our surroundings here in Moreton Bay. This event is not just a concert; it’s an experience that blends the tranquil beauty of the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula with the heartfelt melodies of an Australian music legend.”

Blundell, known for chart-toppers like “Way Out West” and “This Road,” shared his excitement about the upcoming performance. 

“Performing in such a unique setting, surrounded by the stunning seascape at sunset, is a dream come true. I look forward to sharing this special evening with everyone on board,” Blundell commented.

The evening will commence with a complimentary glass of champagne for guests upon arrival. Throughout the three-hour event, attendees will be treated to a selection of gourmet grazing platters while enjoying Blundell’s performance.

Brisbane Whale Watching is preparing to unveil its 2023 season, just in time for what could potentially be many unique encounters with Southern humpback whales.

Entering the tranquil and sheltered waters of Moreton Bay has become an annual ritual for many whales seeking refuge to mate and give birth. Embarking on their yearly migration through the crystalline depths of South East Queensland, Southern humpback whales are expected to grace the region with their majestic presence from June until early November.

Each day brings unique sightings so every expedition with Brisbane Whale Watching is sure to be an adventure.

Whilst the spotlight naturally falls on humpback whales, participants might also witness pods of dolphins gracefully leaping and playing alongside their vessel, accompanied by an astonishing array of marine life.

Welcome to the Whales

To officially kick off the 2023 season, Brisbane Whale Watching will hold “Welcome to the Whales.” Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Redcliffe Farmers and Artisan Markets, this exceptional gathering on Sunday, 4 June  2023, will set the mood for participants eager to take part in the season’s adventures.

Open to the entire community, the festivities will unfold with a whale sand sculpture-building activity on the beach. Mesmerising “undersea” performers will also weave enchanting tales, seamlessly blending their movements with the rhythm of the ocean. 

Talented face painters will adorn eager faces with colourful marine-inspired designs. As an added highlight, participants have been invited to channel their inner marine creature, giving them a chance to vie for the coveted “best-dressed” title and win a family pass.
