Reed’s involvement in the championship will be a family affair, with his 14-year-old son Tate joining him. The younger Reed is slated to compete in all five rounds of the championship, bringing a new dimension to the father-son dynamic as Chad takes on the role of coach.

The Redcliffe rounds of the competition are scheduled for October 12 and 13 at Kayo Stadium. Chad Reed views the Australian junior racing series as unique, highlighting its significance in the supercross landscape.

The Reeds’ participation is seen as a reflection of the championship’s growth and the increasing prominence of supercross in Australia. Chad expressed his excitement about being involved with the Australian Supercross Championship again, noting that racing in Australia holds a special place in his heart.

Reed pointed out several developments in the sport, including the expansion from three to five rounds, sell-out crowds, the strength of the CR22 Cup/85cc class, and innovative partnerships like the one with Supercars for the Adelaide round. He believes these factors are pushing the sport to new heights and garnering attention.

The return of the AUSX Open, featuring top riders like Jett, Hunter, and Cooper, is another aspect Reed finds particularly significant. He reminisced about his own experiences with the event, including his victory in 2016 and his last professional race in Australia in 2019.

For Tate Reed, this championship builds on his supercross debut in Newcastle last year. Chad mentioned that Tate has been gaining valuable experience in the US motocross scene throughout 2024, preparing him for the upcoming Australian championship.

As part of his ambassador role, Chad Reed will be involved in a special competition for ticket purchasers at the Redcliffe rounds. The contest, launching on September 10, will offer 22 attendees – a nod to Reed’s famous race number – the chance to meet the supercross legend and enjoy an ultimate trackside experience at Kayo Stadium.
